Community Circles provide a safe space for youth and adults to confront those life experiences that left feelings of hurt, anger and shame. This space welcomes transparency and vulnerability. A space to hear ones voice and to plan for ones future. A space to be accepted, develop healthy coping strategies, and heal. A space to be supported and loved.
In collaboration with Breathe Boxes Organization, BCCF provides opportunities for the community to learn about mindfulness as a healthy coping strategy for stress and trauma. The community will learn about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's) and how to heal and prevent those experiences. Participants experience a guided mindfulness practice and receive breathe boxes with additional tools and strategies to implement at home.
Parental Conversation and Coaching provides supports to parents that are facing challenges with their youth by teaching and modeling discipline strategies and positive reinforcement strategies.
This program also provides parents with group supports so that parents can bond with one another.
Individualized support provides youth with 1:1 time with a mental health professional that can assist them with processing and expressing feelings, learning coping strategies (ex. mindfulness), role rehearsals which allow the youth to practice new strategies, and understand the importance of self-care.
BCCF has relationships with agencies and organizations to support the needs of the community. Ask our staff to assist you with your needs.
BCCF in collaboration with the Marine Toys for Tots Program, Empowerment Center of Richmond & Team Loaded Foundation provided toys for families in need during the Christmas Holiday season.
